I love this quote by Emerson:
“I wish that life should not be cheap, but sacred.
I wish the days to be as centuries, loaded, fragrant.”

Today, I noticed that the red shoots of the peonies have emerged from their winter sleep.
There’s nothing more fragrant than a peony.

A beautiful flower and wonderful quote. Ralph Waldo Emerson is one of my favorites and I can sit and read his writings for hours.
Thanks for sharing both the photo and the quotation.

Robert, thank you for commenting. I’ve visited your site and must say I’m totally in awe of your photography… you capture the essence of what is sacred in nature and the quotations are exquisite… like icing on the cake.
