Every once in a great while, something happens to remind me of the beauty

found in a sometimes upside down world…

Poet, Mark Jackley recently sent me a copy of his latest chapbook,

LANK, BEAK & BUMPY, edited by Cindy Kelly.

Valparaiso Poetry Review has listed this chapbook on their recommended books list.

It is a beautiful thing to hold in your hand. . . .

Handset by Iota Press in Ehrhardt 12 pt. type, & printed on Mohawk Superfine paper with a 1913 C & P supercool foot-powered platen press.

And I haven’t even gotten to the poetry yet…there is beautiful imagery throughout this great little book.  Here is an exerpt from one of the poems found in this sensual collection.

From “December Rain”:

A tree frogs sleeps

until the spring and his waking dream

of starlight,

hunger, lust, fear

Dark tongue of wet tires ….
