Wabi Sabi is a Japanese term that is hard to define.  In simplistic terms,

it is an aesthetic consciousness whereby an object’s true essence is found

by looking beyond the surface.

Wabi Sabi

When we look beyond the physical appearance, we can see an inner

beauty in objects that are imperfect, decayed, cracked, wrinkled, etc.
